Mom suggested a silhouette of her driving Ghost (her current show horse) might be a popular design for my cafepress store. A silhouette would create an image that was not distinctly she and Ghost, so there would be more appeal to others who drive miniature horses. We browsed through her photographs and found this one:
She emailed it to me, and I spent today playing with it in my Corel program. One of the advantages of doing silhouettes at cafepress is that you can be less worried about the dimensions of the image. With a little adjusting, they’ll fit on just about every item that can be offered. With regular photographs, if they’re square, they’re great for items like the tile coasters or the clocks, but they’ll leave white edging on the rectangular magnets and cards. I do see a lot of that on the site, but I’ve uploaded several images in varying dimensions to avoid that. Here’s one of the items with the silhouette that resulted from today’s editing session:
I regularly search cafepress on some of the tags I use, just to see where in the listings my items are popping up. Within a minute of posting the driving silhouette, it was the first hit on “driving miniature horses”!
